Wowan State School is nestled in the quiet country town of Wowan in Central Queensland. We provide a coeducational school environment for students from Preparatory Year to Year 7. There are two multi-age classrooms consisting of a P-3 and 4-7 class.

As a long standing school, Wowan State School has maintained a core number of staff members who have been at the school and in the area for a long time. These staff members give the continuity required to the school.
